The Story Behind "Thủy Vân"
Thủy Vân Dance Company aims to actively engage with the community, promote the dissemination of Vietnamese culture, and foster a deeper connection to our Vietnamese heritage. Our mission extends beyond showcasing pride in our cultural background; we are also devoted to continuously expanding our knowledge about our people. Dance, being a visual art form, serves as a powerful medium that transcends time and conveys stories, ways of life, and the richness of our culture. By utilizing dance as a vessel, we aim to preserve and celebrate the essence of our heritage.
TVDC stands for Thủy Vân Dance Company, a traditional Vietnamese dance group. Thủy, meaning ocean, embodies qualities of fluidity, purification, and hope. Vân, on the other hand, signifies clouds and symbolizes luck, fortune, and the dynamic nature of change. By combining these elements, Thủy Vân unifies the realms of sky and sea. TVDC's purpose is to preserve the authentic essence of traditional Vietnamese dance amidst the evolving generations.
Vũ Đoàn Thuỷ Vân là nhóm múa dân gian tại Miền Nam Cali với mục đích gìn giữ văn hóa Việt Nam. Thúy Vân là một nhóm múa độc lập, bao gồm các em sinh ra và lớn lên tại Mỹ nhưng có niềm đam mê với múa truyền thống Việt Nam.
Thủy tượng trưng cho đại dương và sự mềm dẻo trong vũ điệu. Vân, tượng trưng cho mây và biểu hiện sự may mắn và tính động đổi trong văn hóa. Khi kết hợp, Thủy Vân góp phần thống nhất giữa không gian bầu trời và biển cả.
